Finally! One of the skyloft windows has a bug screen! Hand made, of course, from scratch, of course. This two-piece system is held in place with quarter round moulding and wooden cams which pivot to secure the frames with a bit of tension. Solid oak from scraps, these are screens you won’t be afraid of bending or breaking like the thin cheap ones on regular vinyl windows. The mesh is heavy “pet proof” stuff which already got cat-tested and owner-approved. The top half can be moved away to open or close the window as needed, though a better propping-up scheme is needed, possibly some hydraulic hardware – suggestions welcome, please.
